Wild Things Publishers

I'm excited to have recently completed my third project for Wild Things Publishing. Here you will find two of the murals I've created for them. Both of them feature trees with hundreds of variations of the colour green, the very symbol of all wild things, the colour of regeneration, the colour of life itself.

100ft of oak trees

I'm very excited that the marvellous WILD THINGS publishers asked me to create the hundred feet long mural in the kitchen - dining room of their welsh farmhouse.

This tree 'grows' out of the Welsh slate worktop and supports the brass light fitting.

Embracing branches

The kitchen dining room is a marvellous space for entertaining and we wanted to create the sense of being embraced by a magic wood.

Stonehenge stones!

The nearby stones, come from the local quarry where the massive stones of legendary STONEHENGE were quarried thousands of years ago.

The kitchen's corner

Above the kitchen's hand made slate worktop, are images of oak trees. They appear to be growing out of the abundant moss covered slate that is such a feature of the local landscape.

A corner.

One of the issues in painting a corner of a room is how to resolve the change of direction of the actual wall surface, I hope you enjoy my solution.

Wrap around

Oak trees wrap around the various angles and corners over the kitchen's black slate work tops.

Floating branches

Some of the branches float up over the ceiling giving a sense of being within a totally embracing GREEN environment.

Roots, moss & slate

I enjoyed featuring the slate that is an essential part of the landscape around the farmhouse as is the abundant moss .

Oriental vibes

Many of the angles in the nearby 'magic' wood seem almost oriental.

An Eighteenth century Welsh Dresser and crisp white custom fittings in the kitchen create a classic English ambience.

The precise green was taken from that of the rather retro feeling of the laundry room.

This corner of the room sets off the view over the gardens.

At the request of the clients I trailed foliage above the antique stone ovens.
