HARPSICHORD IN WRAXALL MANOR. (BATH. UK)

The fab' seventeenth Century Manor house outside of BATH, UK provided a perfect home for this COLIN BOOTH harpsichord, which I'd been comissioned to paint.
Details follow:
    WRAXALL MANOR HARPSICHORD

I painted the interior of the lid with a view of the manor house, as seen from massive entrance columns. The lions on their caps were part of the heraldry of the manor.
SHEEP WANDERING TOWARDS THROUGH THE COTSWOLD FIELDS

The lady of the manor loved sheep and asked to see a flock of them wending their way through the Cotswolds fields. "Sheep may safely graze etc".
    WRAXALL MANOR: THE SOUNDBOARD.

I painted the sound board with 17th Century ornamental strapwork inspired by that found in the manor house. My painted flowers were modelled on the wild flowers surrounding the manor house.
    WRAXALL MANOR

I painted honeysuckle strands trail above the makers name, the excellent COLIN BOOTH as they lace around my signature.
    A NEO CLASSICAL VISTA.

This was another of COLIN BOOTH'S marvellous harpsichords. The vista I painted under the lid was inspired by the paintings of Nicolas Pousin.
    A FÊTE CHAMPÊTRE.

This last example of my work with COLIN BOOTH, had an English landscape with a group of nudes enjoying a Fête Champêtre.
